Ulster Chamber Business Awards recognize local leaders, entrepreneurs

The Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce announced its 2024 Business Awards, recognizing local businesses and entrepreneurs for their leadership, achievements, and community contributions.

  • Entrepreneur of the Year: Lizzie Vann, owner of Bearsville Center in Woodstock, for her restoration work and plans to develop a cultural center.

  • Business of the Year: Callanan Industries, Inc., a paving materials and services provider with a long history of excellence.

  • Small Business of the Year: Brad’s Barns & Gazebos, known for its Amish-built structures, with a strong community focus.

  • Tourism Business of the Year: Phoenicia Diner, a popular spot with a large social media following and significant visitor numbers.

  • Commitment to the Community: HUDSY TV, a local streaming platform offering original and local content.

  • Emerging Young Leader: Ryan Naccarato of Hudson Valley Ambition, a fitness boot camp founder with innovative offerings.

  • Heritage Award: Village Pizza in Saugerties, a family-owned business since 1971.

  • Chamber Champion: Bill Calderara, CEO of Ulster Savings Bank, recognized for his longstanding support of the Chamber.

  • Len Cane Heart of Ulster County Award: Merle Borenstein, founder of Armadillo Bar and Grill, for her extensive community service.

The awards will be presented at a dinner on October 24 at Diamond Mills Hotel in Saugerties.
